Parking Sensor Problem???
I am 4 days new to SL ownership. Question about the parking sensors. The parking indicator light bar on the front dash and rear window shelf appear to be flashing properly when near objects I want to avoid hitting. Should there be an associated chime or other noise when these lights are indicating I am too close? Mine is completely silent - is this normal? Is there a setting to turn sound on and off? Time to go to the MB service department?????

You must have Parktronic in order to have the beeps and chimes when parking.
If you do and still can't hear the beeps, your dealer can have service adjust the volume.

It's a 2017 550SL. Window sticker says "Parking Pilot". Also has the Driver's Assistant Package. I have an original 2007 MB Sales Brochure. Doesn't appear they sold Parktronic for 2007.Parking Piolet standard on all models EXCEPT the 450. The parking proximity lights on my front & rear dash definitely are working, but there is no associated warning sound. Need to know if there should be sound. Perhaps it's just a fuse or something more complicated.
I test drove a 2014 SL a couple weeks ago and I'm almost positive it emitted a noise when to close to a stationary object. Any feedback on this would be appreciated.

Resolved my "problem". I can confirm the audible alarm does work on the 2017 Parking Pilot once within 12" of the obstacle you're trying to avoid hitting. The warning lights come on long before the audible warnings.
