Very Impressed With The Gas Mileage....

I have a little over 600 miles on the ‘19 SL550 and my son and I took one of our mini rallies this morning on back country winding roads. I drove the SL and he drove his new Mustang GT. Total of 260 miles. On the way back we decided to get on I-10 for part of the ride home. In that 46 miles I averaged 79 mph going with the traffic flow and recorded 25.8 mpg. Wow, that is only a small amount less that the ‘2017 Sl450 I traded in. I am very impressed with this gas mileage especially at those speeds!!!
P.S.- Yes that is with the top closed. It is 96F here today.....

That's odd. Are you sure you're using the V8 correctly?

This past spring I did a Florida trip in my 550. On one 600 mile leg I got almost 26 mpg averaging 79 mph. Not bad mileage at all.

different animals obviously but I remember my time in a 2006 CLK350, thinking it was the economical choice. when circumstances arose that necessitated a quick replacement I was wary about the only CLK available to me that week, a 2009 CLK550 but it turned out do have better fuel economy than the 6. at +/- 80 mph the six struggled to get 21 mpg while the 8 easily got 27+.
