so, one negative aspect of my recent detail at the dealer is that the "P" on the transmission switch got loosened and will not restick. I sent an email to my SA and haven't heard back, but I do want it fixed, hopefully soon (my warranty ends 9/30*). So far it's driving me crazy, not just every time I put the car in Park, but I find myself fiddling with it at red lights and even in traffic.

A neighbor has suggested that given the complexity of just the retractable roof I should consider buying an extended warranty, which he says is available to me as long as the factory warranty is still in force (which, again, it is until 9/30). Is that so, and assuming it is, who has found the best deal on it?

While under factory warranty, I don’t see why you wouldn’t try getting it replaced.

This would not get replaced by a CPO/MB extended warranty and most likely not on a 3rd party ones either.

Oh, I did, sorry if I wasn't clear. I brought it up immediately and my SA told me her warranty manager stated it is not something that is covered under warranty, but her Service Manager "is willing to cover the expense." I did end up buying a MB ELW too, BTW.

SA states that whole assembly has to be replaced it not just the P button. ​​
