2014 SL 550 bi-xenon lights not horiz aligned

Normally when I drive up to a horizontal object, such as a panel line on a garage door, the headlights beams are horizontally aligned. Yesterday I pulled up and noted that the right light seems to be pointing noticeably below the left light. I tried bright lights and it was the same. I know the headlights turn when the steering wheel turns, but I have no idea why one beam should be noticeable different than the other. I checked the height of the car on a flat surface and it was easily within 1/2 " or less from being level. The car does have ABC.

Am I correct when I say the beams should be horizontally aligned or does one point higher than the other by design. Has anyone had this issue with their SL ?

The pattern on mine is straight across. Make sure both front tires have the same air pressure and with the engine running measure the gap between the top of the front tires to the bottom of the fender to see if the ABC system is keeping the front level.
Measuring will let you know whether it is the lights or the suspension system.

TIres are good and engine running. Well I do have an extended warranty so I should be covered either way.

Hopefully.

I went out to the garage and found that the focus is different on high beam than it is on low beam. On low beam both sides are equally bright with the same pattern. On high beam the passenger side pattern on my garage door is more diffused and spread out. Naturally, running down the road at night both sides look the same.

Yesterday I spent some time doing high beam/ low beam. Couldn’t see a difference in beam alignment. Did notice that the beams seemed different as you described. It was almost like the left light was illuminating at distance and the right was diffuse and in closer. I recently had an Xentry test and wondered if a setting was set to factory. If not, then something else is causing the problem.
