Running lightning cable from center console

About to add a cell phone base to my SL550 and want to run power from center console glove box, with other end coming out from under the console around the passenger knee area. I see some little holes inside the console glove box, but the lightning plug won't fit through them. Do I need to disassemble the center console? I'm assuming I could damage something if I file the hole a little larger than then fish with a coat hanger up under the lower console edge to the hole to help pull the cable through?...

No more MB:(
I would leave it alone. Not worth it. For me the lighting cable is thin enough so I can close the console and still have the wires running out between the two latches.

Same for me. I just plug the USB end into the center console and lead the cable between the gap between the two halves of the armrest. (Or out the back)

Thats the lower USB outlet in the center console. Not found any use for the upper cabled outlet with the old pre-lightning connector at the end of the cable. Anyone tried to connect that with an adapter to lightning. Anything happen?

Does that mean you want your phone around the passenger knee area or will your phone be in the console?

Mine has a lightning connector at the end of that cable, which is only about 5-6" long.

There's power just above passenger's left foot.

I mounted a cell phone holder/charger on the right side of the console and ran the power down to that 12v. I think that's why it's there!

Phone mounting in SL?

I would be very interested in seeing some photographs of how others have mounted their phone. I need to be able to use the Waze app but I have yet to come up with a mounting location and mounting apparatus.

I have been using proclipUSA mounts in all of my vehicles for the past 20 years and was disappointed to find out they did not develop a mount for my 2013 SL 550.

I know many are using the mounts that are designed for the cupholder but I need both cup holders.

please post pictures of what you did, I need to find a solution.

my first cell phone! I used to use it to scrape the frost off my windshield, and if I dropped it, I didn't worry about it breaking, I worried it might break my foot!
