Function of C Button?

Hello SL Enthusiasts,

Two weeks ago I got my new 2020 SL550.
Here is my question...what is the function of the "C Button" at the center consul next to the control wheel / button which controls the infotainment display?
I have searched the owners manual but without any answer. This button is not mentioned anywhere!
I assumed it would be the "Comfort Drive Mode Button" which would bring the drive mode back to Comfort when the Sport or any other drive mode was selected without pushing the Dynamic Drive Button several times to go back into Comfort Mode.
I tried that while driving, but it does nothing.

What is this "C Button" for...or maybe it is not working?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much
Franz

Haven't ever seen one with a 'C' Button, but I'm guessing the 'C' may stand for 'Clear' which could also explain why it appears to do nothing when you press it!

Can't understand why there would be any button in your new car that is not identified in your 2020 231 instruction manual....Did you also try looking in the Visual Section (Interior) of your Digital Instruction Manual that is built into the 231's Command System?....

That is the only button in my 2019 manual that is not listed or described though it is shown in the center console picture on page 37....

Hi Bob 55,
you are absolutely right the C button stands for clear.
It is not mentioned in the booklets owners manual, but it is shown in the digital owners manual in the cars interior display. I was just sitting in the car and searched for it and there it was...thanks very much now I feel a bit stupid.
Even the guys a the dealership didn't know what this button was for. They told me they had to search it and would let me know, but no answer as of now.

We should not expect a car company only over 100 years old selling cars way over 100,000.00 to actually educate their employees what the button functions accomplish!

If you are in Navigation and listing Previous Destinations, can the C button clear an individual destination (when it is highlighted)?

Unfortunately with the C button you can not clear a previous destination in the Navigation mode. In order to delete that you have to push the control wheel to the right and there popes up a menu with the option to delete it.
So far what I experienced is the only thing to clear is when you entered a new destination and want to save that destination with your personal destination name and you made a typo doing it then you can push the C button and it will clear one letter at a time.
