Just an idea to keep stuff from flopping around in the trunk.
The plastic rails are CD shelf inserts (see link) and, for the time being, a bit of plywood for the dividers. https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop...d-insert-shelf
Space width is adjustable and you can use as many dividers as you like—two seems to work well.
The CD rails are held in place with Velcro and are easily removed to gain access to storage under the trunk floor.
Maybe I have too much time on my hands, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
I use this stretchable cargo netting from Amazon in my SL trunk. Stretches to accommodate larger items and is double layered like a pocket to store small stuff as in my photo.
I bought it after carrying a set of sockets in the trunk that started rolling around at every turn sounding like four 5 year olds playing in the rear. There must be very little to no insulation in the wall between the trunk and seats. You can hear everything that rolls around...
PS- The clips to hold the netting are already installed in the 231. Why MB is so cheap as to not include the netting baffles me. Neither of my 231’s had the netting included in the sale....
