Thank to all for input! Have read this forum some time, decided to register.
Regarding HK rear speakers, after I follow suggestions provided in SL forums and made fader selector available via service menu, tested different setting levels for rear speaker and noise (no sound) what was delivered from those speakers was just sh….! In the end I leave default settings - no noise from rear. Im not audiophile, but this is embarrassing. What is speaker size? Probably to add amps and once seats and all panels are removed, to replace speakers within this process should be simple and easy. Or not?
If I go in that way, probably subs and amps under seats will be added with same install.

TheThunderbird,

There are multiple empty spots for fuses in the fuse box. You just need to add the wire and the clip that grabs the fuse from the underside of the fuse tray. It's a strange clip, that slips into the bottom and locks in place and then the fuse comes in from above and it grabs the fuse blade pin. I went to my local mechanic and he had a bunch of european fuse connectors, I found one that looked about right and then tweaked it to make it work. The correct terminals are available online, if you order before you start your project, and can be purchased easily off of Amazon. A quick google search will tell you the type of fuse connector you are looking for.

Thanks for the quick reply! I assumed you had tapped into an existing fuse using a fuse tap. So you added a new fuse in an empty slot? Where did you connect that to power?

In the fuse box, the empty slots already have power to them from the power bus. The is just 2nd connector in the fuse blade slot to run to the accessory - in this case the amp. There were multiple empty fuse slots. Use a voltmeter and confirm that one side of the empty fuse slot has power and then connect your new blade terminal to the opposite side of th empty fuse slot from the underside of the fuse box. It sounds complicated but once you open it up you will see that's its quite simple.

Excluding the trip to the mechanic to grab the fuse blade terminal connector the whole time spent finding a powered empty slot, getting to the underside, installing the blade terminal and putting the box together was less than 15 mins and probably closer to 10.

More time was spent wiggling my fat butt in and out around passenger seat.

Super helpful thread. I had a shop add the amp to my 2013 SL63 - speakers are always active now. Oddly enough, my ECO button stopped working. It lights up when the car starts (with a yellow "ECO" in the dash), but after a few seconds the light in the button goes off and the "ECO" in the dash goes away. I replaced the aux battery thinking that could be the issue (old one was showing low voltage), but still the same issue.

I don't miss the ECO feature, but I am curious if I have inadvertently broken something. Anyone have any thoughts?
