SL/R231: For those of you looking for a 2019 SL 450 with ABC

I was surprised to see even (1) with ABC for sale, and absolutely 'shocked' to find (3) of these 'Unicorns' for sale now!....

Click on the links below to see the latest (2) listings!....

Note: both listings show pics of the ABC Buttons on the Center Console!...You can also see that both these cars have the optional Wood/Leather Steering Wheel as well!....

** 2nd of 3 - (Ohio) - Grey with Porcelain Interior - This one appears to have Magic Sky as well!...

** 3rd of 3 - (California) - Polar White with Porcelain Interior (Can't tell for sure if it has Magic Sky, but the price certainly indicates that it most likely does)...

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

There appears to be something wrong with every SL brought up no matter how it is configured.

SL’s are also less likely to be heavily discounted before summer and with no successor in sight.
If you are cheap and want expensive options but don’t want to pay for them, you can only buy used. No alternative. They will not be given away.

Though I'm really not that cheap, there are a lot of expensive options that I don't want. Thanks in part to you guys, I'm sticking to the CPO route from here on out.

Yes. I am certain they will. For one due to lowered interest rates and to create buyer incentives. Even though MBFS has helped dealers in lowering costs of inventory in the short terms, they still need to sell cars to make money. So they have to sweeten the pie.
What is uncertain is just how long the situation will persist and how deep/prolonged a recession will be.
What is different from all previous scenarios is that manufacturers never had a total shut down of their plants (nearly) everywhere. While bad this helps to minimize excess inventories.

I remember another UK member got a significant discount on a facelifted SL450 (maybe 20%) before that car was even available here in the US.
The Canadian market is somewhat the same way, AMG’s costs a fraction of what they are selling here.

Any news/indications when MB will reopen the plants in Germany? I have an SL which was due to be built the first two weeks in April and delivered the end of April/first part of May. Looks like a June/July delivery now.....if then.

This has the Exclusive Nappa Porcelain Designo Interior and note that 1 of the 36 pics shows the Magic Sky Roof Option! Also has the unique exterior Designo Accents, (Chrome accents on lower grille, White Piano Lacquer trim to include the steering wheel). Finally ;checkout those expensive 10-spoke AMG 19/20 Forged Wheels, and not the Driver Assist Package is there as well!...

A rare find indeed!....

Just trying to find a bit more car 'beauty' to help ease the stress, depression, and boredom of this dreaded Covid-19 crisis which, sadly, isn't likely to end anytime soon!....

Listening to some good music also helps!....

So, are you really still searching for a 231 with all the right options, and at the right price, Dr Manhattan?....

Clearly, there are some excellent 231 choices available right now in both the 450 V6 and the 550 V8!....

The more powerful 550 Twin Turbo V8 remains the engine of choice for me, but as always, YMMV applies!.....

Point the car wheels exactly straight, and then disconnect the main battery & leave to sit for 10 mins, to ensure any airbag capacitor is discharged. Punch through both the side "dimples" in the leather and insert a flat bladed screwdriver to release the clips that retain the airbag module, unplug and remove. Undo the large torx bolt on the steering column, and mark the exact vertical location of the steering column with a marker. Pull off the old wheel and transfer the buttons and chrome trim to the replacement using a philips head screwdriver. Attach the replacement making sure that the steering column has not moved out of position, and tighten the steering column bolt firmly as per specification with a torque wrench. Plug in the airbag module, then insert it into the wheel until you hear a firm click.
