2013 without ABC?

Been looking at a 2012 SL 550 and it does not have ABC. Did they come with and without ABC? Would this effect value? Hope this is not a stupid question. My only experience is with theR230.

I thought the 231s, starting in 2013 in the U.S., were the first ones to have ABC optional rather than standard. No?

Regarding 231's from 2013-2020, your statement above is true for the SL400, SL450, and SL550. However, the SL63 and SL65 AMG models continued to come standard with ABC.

I must temper these remarks by saying that my comments apply only to those 231's destined to be sold in the USA.

I have heard that non-AMG 231's destined to be sold in certain other countries, (Canada for example), included ABC as standard Perhaps someone else here can confirm this with regard to the Canadian 231's , but I do recall hearing that a few years ago. Obviously, the road conditions and weather in Canada can be 'different' than here in the USA which may have been a key factor in determining just what type of suspension MB felt was appropriate for the Canadian environment on non-AMG 231's.

Hell yeah, we have standard ABC in Canada! I've gotten a lot of use out of its lift feature - I was even able to take it down a dirt path deep in a provincial park because of the ground clearance!
Canadian market cars usually come with more standard equipment but usually a slightly higher price tag (except for cars manufactured in Canada)

The OP was asking about a 550, so I left out the AMG info, and I did know about Canadian cars still having ABC standard, but since he is in Oregon...well, maybe I made too many assumptions based on what he actually asked and where he actually is.
