Center Speaker Issues
Has anyone had this problem with the center speaker on an SL? It is very distorted at certain octaves. The sound would appear to act as though the speaker had a "tear" in it. I found this video on You Tube. I did see on here where others have replaced the speaker, however, if this is the true culprit, I would prefer fix the issue this way as depicted in the You Tube video.
So my question is; Has anyone had the problem with the center speaker, did you replace it or did you repair it as in this video?

I just finished this repair. My speaker had this issue. It sounded as if the speaker was “blown”. I watched the video and took apart the dash which was a little nerve racking to start. Panel came of fairly easily with plastic trim tool. My center cone was floating in the middle exactly as shown in video. Theses speakers have a design flaw in the glue attaching the center cone. I applied super glue gel and re assembled. Waited overnight for glue to set. The next day I tested the speaker and it performed flawlessly. Cranked the volume and left it on heavy metal for 5 minutes. The speaker is completely fixed. 15 minutes and 4 dollars for super glue.
