Car Cover?

Getting ready to put my baby to sleep for the winter. Last year I just left it uncovered in my garage, and it got kinda dusty. Recommendations for a cover? It can't be one that tightly wraps around the car because two sides will be against walls and I won't have access.

I know many will consider this sacrelage, but I was thinking of getting a plastic sheet at the home center and just draping it over and calling it a day. Tossing it / repurposing it in the spring. Flame away....

Personally I would let the car get dusty before I potentially trap moisture under a plastic tarp.

You might also get a trickle charger and keep the battery fresh.

If you are finicky about your paint no plastic sheet. Any movement will surface scratch the paint. I also hate car covers, have tried many kinds, and eventually they become a hassle getting on and off. I just let my inside stored cars get dusty and wash before use.

I tried a plastic sheet on my last Mercedes having seen Wayne Carini (TV series...Chasing Classic Cars) use them in his garage. Bad idea! If there is any condensation under the plastic and the plastic settles on a non metal (as in plastic) body part, an imprint will be left on the plastic which will be devilishly hard to remove. In my opinion, it's best NOT to use any cover. Let the dust fall where it may and wash it off when the weather warms.

Also in reply to others who state that a cover will cause damage. Well I have had a cover over various vettes for many years and one of them for over 15 years and no damage whatsoever? Regardless, I have a brand new SL550 2013 actual MB cover in grey(well, been used perhaps 4 times cos I'm lazy and in Florida so don't know why I ever got one in the first place) if you care to PM me, I will try and find it and funny you brought this up as was thinking of selling it at some stage for a reasonable price anyway.

You have an ummm... interesting fleet.
I like the red centre caps, however!
