Pyrofuses disable the ignition when the airbags have been deployed, a crash sensor or other major fault has been triggered, so I assume this is an accident car.

I can't check as we don't have our SL anymore but the pyrofuse should be directly connected to the positive pole to the battery (similar to this pic - red body).
Again. not a tech here but we have some great people like Konigstiger on the forum here who have the knowledge and documentation. I read that it maybe also integrated in the prefuse-box...
