SL/R231: Air Scarf Issue

Air Scarf Issue
I had a 2013 Sl 550, I am having trouble with the Airscarff system. When put on level 3 (high) the fan comes on for 10 seconds then shuts off. This happens on both drivers and passenger side. Strangely enough if I select level 1 speed (low) they both work without any issue.
I recently brought into Benz service, they stated that both units needed replacement and quoted me 3k to replace to both sides. I purchased a new blower and installed myself , and surprisingly enough we have the same issue, so there is no change with the new part.
Does anyone have any input on this ? I check the plug it appears to be fine.
