I took the car to a do-it-yourself carwash yesterday, one of those with the high pressure hoses. So I'm soaping up the car and notice what I thought was an insect stain next to the windshield. So I tried to remove it by putting the nozzle almost on top of the stain. Big mistake. Turns out that wasn't a bug mark. It was a tiny chip in the paint and the high pressure wash got in under it and cut a 1.5" by 3/4" flap in the paint! Car will be at the body shop in two weeks for the repair. Total car wash price is now up from $10. to $260.

Looks like Diamond White. Based on the price they will only paint the A-Pillar and not blend it.If you want to keep & drive your car meanwhile, you can just take that piece off. Takes a few minutes only as it's just a cosmetic plastic cover...
I was about to take it to the body shop and get it fixed for $250 and let them have it for two to three days. Then I thought to check with the indy shop in town to see who they recommend. Turns out they gave me a name I never heard of. Tod Biron Classic Restorations in Vero Beach, so I stopped by to check them out. Among various classics they were restoring, they were working on two Bentley GTs. They gave me an estimate of $158 and said if I dropped it off the following Wednesday morning, I could have it back that afternoon! Sold! I got the car back the same day and the paint match is perfect.
