High Mileage 2013 SL63

Hello Everyone - I'm looking at a relatively high mileage 65,000 mile 2013 SL63. I'm waiting for the complete service records, but in the meantime just thought if the community had any thoughts / things to look out for / experiences with a 2013 SL63. Obviously the engine is a huge concern, but with the ABC, Carbon Ceramics, etc. there are lots of expensive things that can go wrong if it wasn't maintained properly.

In case anyone is wondering - this car has the exact colours and rare options that I would have ordered if I had bought myself (including B&O, Mango paint, Performance package, etc.). It also has the "486" Performance suspension option, which I've read differing reports on exactly how 'stiff' it is - any opinions on that would be appreciated to!

Thanks!

Just my two cents worth, contact and engage a known indy, or a MB dealership, spend a few hundred on a PPI. Lots of variables in your scenario, not one best left to speculation. Pay for the PPI.

Tennessee is spot on. PPI and perhaps a 3rd party warranty or some money set aside for maintenance/repairs.
Personally I don’t consider 60k miles very high mileage (in Germany that V8 can be considered broken in by then ) but everything is based on use and abuse. The Carbon Ceramic rotors easily last over 100k miles but if the prior owner ran down the brake pads and damaged the rotors (extremely unlikely) you would look at a $20k repair.

AMG’s always have a stiffer suspension but compared to other models, the SL is quite soft, even with the performance option. Nothing beats a test drive to see if the cars demeanor and ride is to your liking. This is a personal preference so only you can tell.

These cars are solid and trouble free overall though. Good luck!
