Yes, you are absolutely right. They have structured the settlement so that the repairs will pretty much cost them NOTHING! As it looks to me, MB might actually MAKE money on the claims. The attorneys representing the plaintiffs really did a horrible job for their clients in this mess. I hope that some of the affected folks did not go along with the class action and are suing MB on their own. This really is another low point in the MB saga and to me it just shows utter contempt for their customers. There is nothing more important to them than turning profits.

No Settlement Yet for Mars Red Lawsuit

I did repaint my drivers side, think I might submit a claim.
Myron Please let me know if you have luck with your claim. They extended the lawsuit the last time that I checked it appears to stall long enough for liability to run out. I have 2014 E350 that is Mars Red and was peeling badly. I paid $8k to have my entire car repainted because the dealer wouldn't accept my claim. Was hoping to get some compensation at one point they were offering an extended warranty in lieu of painting your car to resolve the problem. I had a friend take their car to the deal and they kept her car for 3 weeks only to spot the part of her car that was peeling. Now the sections they didn't paint are now peeling

ONLY body and paint shops that are CERTIFIED by Mercedes can do the repairs under the extended warranty provided by the Settlement.

My paint shop was approved. They were recommended by the Dealer if I wanted to pay for the work myself
