Mercedes SL400 facelift (R231)

Warning sound wipers

Does anyone know how to de-activate the warning "ding" sound when the wipers start -- (SL400 2017 facelift model) particularly annoying when auto wiping in light rain. Would like to switch this sound off -- different sound to normal warnings, it seems to emanate from the passenger footwell?

You have my sympathy...struggling to see the relevance of such a warning.

News to me. On my third SL and none of mine have ever done that. Maybe on Euro builds only?
Why would one need a aural warning on windshield wipers? You can see if they are on….
