Traffic indicator problem.

Hi On my 2013 SL the right hand indicator warning on the dash is flashing fast but the actual indicator is working as it should. This doesn't happen all the time, say once every couple of months and when it does I get a warning saying right hand rear indicator fault. When the car is re started it doesn't do it again for the pre mentioned time. Any ideas anyone.

Mine does the same, It's down to faulty Led's in the rear light cluster on mine. Which means a complete rear light unit from MB which is £350+ + and to make things worse there are none available to order.

Check yours next time the fault comes up see if all the LED's are illuminating.

It might be worth cleaning the connectors to the tail light unit just in case it not that triggering the error message.

OK The last time it did it I checked to see if all the LED's were working ,which they was. So my next step is to have a look at the electrical connectors as David 2244 points out. So what trim etc and in what sequence do I need to remove it to get at the unit..

I think you were looking for this at some point, (another forum?)
Was in the R231 WIS today for something else,

This may help on on removing the Tail lamps:
See attached pdf

BTW the tail lamps are connected thru the rear SAM. I think you already checked codes?
I've attached the wiring diagram to the rear SAM, Tail lights are E3/E4. (NOTE: THIS IS FOR U.S. VERSION CAR)
(zoom in to see diagram)

Good Luck!

Well, I managed to remove the afore mentioned unit, made sure everything was clean and applied Dialectric grease to the electrical connectors on reassembly but I'm still getting the same issue as before.
As mentioned previously the fault is intermittent.
