Exclamation 2013 SL550 Airbag Light

So I have an issue with the airbag light that won’t get cleared it’s due probably to the vehicle being in a accident but if anyone can help it would be great here is the error message I’m getting in the DTCs.

The squib for belt force limiter 'Driver' has a malfunction. There is
an open circuit. (B008013)

I haven’t opened up anything yet since I’m not really sure what this message is referring to if anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

If airbag was deployed, chances are the seat belt tensioners deployed and either need to be replaced or "rebuilt".
Did you get the car like this? Are you original owner or was this a recent purchase?
If you are new owner, It's also possible they were "rebuilt" improperly, especially if they appear to function normally. Also make sure ALL the connectors to the seat belt tensioners are connected. There are several and it's possible one was missed....
Did you try to clear the codes in Xentry?

I cleared the code but it comes back. I bought the car like this. So what do you think I should do rebuild the belt tensioner or the whole seat belt assembly.

The belt (pre)tensioner IS the part of whole seatbelt assembly. (see pic below)
I would definitely check that all the connectors are properly seated. I've seen cars where people have missed one
There are several outfits that rebuild them.

I've used these guys in the past.

I’m not sure that’s my problem because my seatbelt isn’t locked up or loose. Do you think it would still fix it.

Thats about the best I can do over the internet. You're on site, so it's your call. Was the light always on or did it just appear?

Since you didn't do the repair and got the car like that, with no history, it's hard to be 100% certain short of pulling the belt and checking it. Could be a myriad of other wiring issues, but 90% of the time, after airbag deployment, that's the problem. (See my post about checking connectors too) Just because the seatbelt appears to work doesn't mean it wasn't repaired/rebuilt improperly. Those pre-tensions have an explosive charge like your airbags.

If you're in doubt, test the pre tensioner electrical before you send it out...

Good Luck
