I had Service B executed by the MB dealer about 10 days ago. I parked the car at the airport for 4 days, took a leisurely highway drive home and when I turned the car off, this happened in my garage, Not happy! Does the dealer have any responsibility here?
Also, in looking into coolant, the correct coolant should be violet colored for 2014 and up, my car has blue in it. I should not mix violet and blue and just use blue? I've clamped it back up with an Adams clamp, so I know it's now secure.
Insight into dealer responsibility and correct coolant are appreciated.
That's what it looks like...I put a new clamp on, refilled it and it's good to go. I'm a little concerned about the opposite hose, it looks like it has moved away from being fully seated, but I couldn't move it either way. I may put another clamp on it for insurance. Thanks for the feedback.
Really??? That's somewhat comforting. It popped off again on Friday. I've taken it to a garage for assessment. I theorize that when it was serviced, there was too much coolant added and there was no place for it to expand, so the weakest point failed. Likely I overfilled it again. I am unclear how full the reservoir should be.
Hopefully, the upper hose assembly will be replaced and that should be the end of it.
