Odor when starting car
Hello. I am brand new to this forum. I have a 2017 SL 63. After the car is warm and has been sitting for a bit, when I get in the car and restart a it with the AC on, there is this terrible rotten fruit smell that blows out of the vents. After a while it goes away. Anyone here have ideas? Have you guys heard of this before?

The way to prevent this is to turn off a. The last few minutes of a drive to help the wet vents dry out.
obviously check your cabin filters…I like carbon replacements.

Not sure.
Try changing the cabin filter.
Also pop the hood and look around good to see if a mouse/rat, etc. is stuck in a corner, or down in a pocket someplace. It may smell once the car is warm because the dead body heats up etc.

MB’s of all kinds.
Sounds like the smelly AC issue MB and many cars have. Change the filter, use a couple cans of Kool-It. Smell goes away. Had this issue on a Mercedes ML350, Dodge Caravan and a Honda. The filters and Kool-It fixed it all.
