2014 SL 550
Struts

My 2014 SL550 is in need of front struts. I know I do not have the ABC system. But on my center console there are two buttons, one says Comfort, the other Sport. If I'm in Comfort Mode and press Sport, the dash shows a shock absorber lowered. If I push Comfort it shows a shock absorber extended. So, does anyone know what shocks are in the car? I called the local Mercedes dealership parts department, figuring they could tell me. I gave the Vin # to the parts guy and he said I had regular struts. He also said according to the vin, I have a blue SL500.Well no, I have a Diamond White Pearl SL550. So much for the dealership. Anybody able to sort this out?

Your car uses Bilstein DampTronic shocks and struts.

https://www.shockwarehouse.com/produ...des-benz-sl550

The B4 DampTronic are the stock shocks. B6 would be upgraded. Search for your car on www.shockwarehouse.com.

Maybe silly question but how do you know that you need new struts? What are the indication?
