Stock Exhaust
Not sure how many SL owners have been under their cars, but I thought I would share a pic of my exhaust system.
First, the pipes are huge. I should have put a caliper on them, but I'm guessing 2.75" or 3". The second thing is that there are two crossover pipes (red arrows) that help balance the exhaust pressure, reduce in-cabin drone, and increase engine output. Not bad for a stock exhaust.

O.D. is actually 65mm or 2½". Tried to get a better look at the front "crossover" because I'm thinking it may only be for support and not an actual crossover pipe. But the car is too low to get a good look. The rear one is clearly a crossover by the way it is formed.

I put mine on a friend's lift once a year to change the oil. I'll have to check out the exhaust system next time. I also plan to change out the brake fluid at the same time.
