There's two problems I'm aware of that can affect the shifter. One is that the aux battery is dead, because it powers the transmission module. The other is a plastic part within the shifter that breaks. I've seen discussion of it in the forums and I believe there's a fix available out there.

2017 SL450
2017 SL450 here. FL car for first 40k and now here in Vermont. I store it in the winters in a heated building. I say all that to say I have had a few plastic pieces that mount to the block wear out. For example I just had the thermostat housing replaced as thermal fatigue caused the plastic to get brittle and leak. 300 for parts and 700 for labor as much of the front of the car needed to be removed to access the housing and a few other clamps and hoses I had changed while in there (additional 100 bucks) .

Just today I had a bunch of lights come on and it seems like by right front blinker is out. it causes loads of other lights to come on though as low beams and auto light systems also give errors. I logged on here to research this as I am not sure if a single bulb/LED is able to be replaced or if I need an entire sealed unit. I can't imagine that will be cheap.

Otherwise this car has been a joy! this is my second summer with it and have put on about 6k miles. I just love it!!
