Hello Everyone and Happy Superbowl Sunday!

I recently purchased a 2016 sl400 and I was wondering if anybody knows about a trick or hack that would enable the seat back adjustment to separate from the seat floor bottom cushion adjustment.

Whenever I try to get the seat back cushion to recline back further, it readjusts the bottom cushion and makes it very difficult. I'm hoping somebody on here knows how to separate those two controls, or maybe override it, so that I can just adjust and recline the seat back separately on its own.

I believe I do understand that the design was made with safety precautions in mind, however the passenger side seatback cushion is able to recline further back then the drivers side.

Thanks,

Bibs

@Bibs1217 it's possible the seat positioning needs to be recalibrated. There's a function in Xentry to do that. Positioning will also stop to avoid collisions. Try pushing in the steering wheel all the way, lowering the headrest all the way, moving the seat forward all the way. Then see how far the seat will recline.

I had the same exact issue with my passenger seat in my MY14 SL550. A re-calibration solved all of my problems.
I used my Launch Creader to re-calibrate the seat.

Thank you!
Thank you!! I believe it worked! I don't have the Creador ( looking at buying one now, didn't know about it) but I tried pushing the seat all the way forward along with the steering wheel and I am 90% sure it left me with more reclining for my back cushion.
Thanks again!
