Steering wheel stopped going up & down
A while back my steering wheel stopped in the top position and lowering the lever it wouldn’t move. It continued to go in and out though. Hooked it up to the computer and they could tell that the lever switch worked, so maybe the wire broke or the electric motor was toast. Ask my mechanic friend to have a look . Inexpensive fix, the steering wheel had gone a few mm too high. He moved the mechanism slightly and it unfroze. Has been working fine. When I turn the off car and the steering wheel automatically moves to the too position, I then give the lever a small tap down, just in case.

2013 SL550
Same problem - fixed
I had the same problem with my 2013 SL550. Steering wheel would go in.out but not up/down. I tried cycling it all the way in and out several times then it started working correctly. Just this last week it happened again, and after moving it in and out several times it started working again. Coincidence, or did the in/out trick do something?
