Risqué Mighty Mouse photos!
Well this morning, I caught a glimpse of Mighty Mouse with her pants down. Yes, if you don’t remember, Mighty Mouse identifies as a female.
Actually, it was her overdue sixth service, and my new found, truly fabulous Indy shop was kind enough to let me snap a few photos while her splash guards were off. I apologize for the water spots on some of the areas, but try as I may, I cannot seem to avoid every wet spot I meet on the road. Needless to say, she has never been driven in the rain.
My 2019 SL450 has right around 4,500 miles on it and I really don’t drive it much, but I do try to fire it up and drive it enough to get it up to operating temperature at least every week or so. I thought you folks might like to see these photos.
So clean underneath. It almost looks detailed.
You could put it on car show blocks, with mirrors underneath at a car meet.
I never plan to drive mine in the rain, but I have been caught out, trying to get back, as the rain hits.
Every drop that hits, stings.
It’s hard to drive it, AND keep it in mint condition.
Very beautiful view of the engineering that went into the R231.
My wife has a white 2017 SL450, albeit with higher mileage, going on 91,000 now. Running wonderfully, still looking great.
Thank you for those nice photos!

Those were my thoughts as I viewed the underside. Makes one realize why the cars are so expensive. That said, when I look at what these cars sold for new, compared to what they want for the problematic R232’s, our cars—especially the SL450’s—were an all time bargain!
Thanks for taking the time to do this, I've never seen the underside of my SL 400 but I know for certain it's nothing like yours, mine is parked outside and used in all weather. The super flat profile of all the underneath sure looks impressive, must be a PITA to work on though.

Can anyone tell me what these bars are for? I hate to see the finish all deteriorated like this. Are they easily removable? I’d like to either refinish them or replace them, if it isn’t a huge deal.

Super clean! Probably the best example of a R231 I have ever seen in the US.
Actually, might be the best example you will ever see. Period. (As in in the entire world) Unless there are collectors that bought the vehicle and never drive it at all and/or was left in a museum.

I am sure there is a few more probably including the one in the MB museum. You definitely will not see it on FB Marketplace lol.
I don't think that you would want to deal with the clientele that you might receive from a Marketplace listing. Your best bet would be to advertise it with the Mercedes Club of America.
The bars are for stability of the frame and driveline. My Wagon has them as well. That bar you have in the picture as well as the exhaust on that side look like they have coolant on them. Hopefully that was checked out. Beautiful example!

Is FaceBook Marketplace a good place to list a car for sale? I don't have a FB account and have tried to stay away from it.
No not at all. Not the place to list a fine car such as this. The people buying cars on FB marketplace wouldn’t get this car. If you are selling this I would go here or MBCA https://thembmarket.com/?gad_source=...SAAEgK9f_D_BwE

When I was looking to purchase, I used the above as well as cars.com, cargurus.com, autotempest.com, etc. to set up alerts for new listings all over the country.
I almost purchased a 2019 SL450 with less than 3K miles from a private party on AutoTrader!
Anyway, have read many of your posts on this forum so thanks for all the information you've shared over the years!

How long ago was that 3K mile SL450 offered? What was the price? Thanks.

It was originally listed at the end of September for $62K. Listing isn't live any more so it either sold or pulled off the market?
Really nice car and was like stepping into a time-capsule and basically almost like new. The car was pristine but I just couldn't settle for the color combination and V6!

What was the color combination? How was it equipped?
