I think it sounds great and will sell well! Now all I need is for one of y'all to hurry up and buy one and take the initial depreciation so I can take it off your hands for $$$ less 3-4 years later!

Marketing strategy is interesting….
Soft releases, building hype like many other luxury products?
Or forced into a slow release due to materials availability?

I'm thinking it’s the latter.

Definitely the latter. Full unveiling is scheduled for October but I believe the original unveiling was supposed to be at Pebble Beach. I'm sure the chip shortage and V8 suspension of course has greatly affected things as the SL 63 will likely have to be pushed as a MY23 vehicle.

Interesting that MB offered USA based Car and Driver and Motortrend an insider look. The formerly popular Mercedes Benz Club of America is ignored, again. I've been a MBCA member since 1986......I don't plan to renew because the MBCA is on life support and this is further proof. In 1986 the MBCA, Porsche club and BMW clubs all had fairly equal membership numbers of about 25K. PCA and BMWCCA are over 75K today while the failing MBCA is 20K and falling. The STAR is a joke......riddled with errors. Considering the mistakes and lack of MB acumen, I suspect the editors were formally employed for fly fishing periodicals.

Maybe the MB marketing department is smarter than we give credit??? The sloooow release of the R232 might be building consumer interest. I plan to order one of the V8 with hybrid assist when available.
