Article clarifies that the SL is a cruiser and the GT is track ready but they do share the same platform.

The GT referred to is a coupe the SL is a convertible. By definition they are not the same car so what is your point?

GLE 43, SL500, AMG GT-S, S65

Having owned both the AMG GT and the previous SL, I much preferred the ride of the SL. Hoping the transition to an AMG-developed SL does not make it ride too much like the current GT cars.
