Before and After Stealth PPF
Here is a before and after of my SL55. I had a Stealth PPF which is clear but gives it a satin finish added. I love the finished look and it's way easier to keep clean than the original finish plus I feel like we can better see the shape since it's less of a mirror.
I am extremely happy with the results. I kept the mirrors and aero bits gloss black but I did matte out the windshield contour which is never matte from Mercedes.
Also took the opportunity to swap the chrome badges for the black chrome. I simply ordered replacements using the VIN from a car that had that option.
The roof matches the car better now as well.

I was already only hand washing before so yes but since I don't have to be careful about scratches I just use a cloth and spray daily as needed. I could use a car wash but I'm in California so cloth and spray are usually enough. The PPF is self healing too so if it does get scuffed, a little time in the sun fixes it right up.

That is true for actual matte paint but the PPF film is very durable and self-healing. Plus I have a ceramic coating on top so it stays pretty clean.

Well done! Your ride is now preserved forever and no more polishing and waxing required- so easy. You should be able to run it through a car wash. Would like to do the same to mine but cost a fortune to get all ppf like that.

So does a hair dryer remove scratches--I was amazed at the self healing properties--YouTube has several great videos on application of PPF and fixing scratches--even with 3000 grit or compounds--easier to fix scratches than on the paint--Worked perfectly on the wrap I have on my hood.Check out the videos!

The other things that you can heal are the rings that gets etched on the ppf after removing bird droppings, or water marks. I heat up some water in a paper cup in the microwave. I soak a paper towel in the hot water and then place the hot wet paper towel on the marks for about a minute (you can pour more of the hot water on the paper towel to keep it hot). Remove the paper towel and the marks are gone.

Waw thanks for sharing, I was thinking of doing the same on the one I am ordering. Couldn't find the look anywhere. Why not black out the front grill too? I recommend using window tint instead of gloss wrap if you decide to do this. Same for the emblems. It gets you that dark chrome/smoked chrome finish, which looks much better in my opinion
