New windshield
I had a rock crack my windshield awhile ago. It cost $2800 to replace with a $1000 deductible, but the main issue was getting a new windshield in took a full month since it had to come in from Germany. The dealer got it installed today. A small negative of having a new model car.

Yes, it does have the HUD, but I think that technology is built into the dashboard and the window just acts as a display screen. Just guessing here, but I think all the embedded antennas and that huge black module that sits behind the mirror has a lot to do with the cost and installation process. There must be multiple cameras and communication technology built in it.

Wow. We have no deductible glass coverage in MN so I never looked at pricing. HUD windshields have a coating on the inside to reflect the display the dash
