Hey man,
For context, I've owned 3 Mercedes before purchasing my SL (2014 CLA 250, 2018 GLA 250, 2022 CLA45). I just bought my 2022 SL with prepaid maintenance. I've always had prepaid maintenance with my Mercedes.
It is a good value. Anytime I compare what someone without it pays compared to me on their CLA and GLAs, I had something like ~20% less paid during the lifetime of the repair maintenance. Maybe compared to a 3rd party shop, it's a wash, but I like the dealer experience. They call you & say you're up for maintenance, set a date, you walk in, you walk out with a courtesy car, walk back in for pickup, get your 0$ receipt (more like proof of work done) and walk out. It's a fully "turn my brain off" experience.
But for the CLA45 I realized something. The SL is at a spot where prepaid maintenance is even more valuable. Your maintenance bill for an SL will be bigger than any other Mercedes besides a G-Wagon (equal to a GT and etc.), but the prepaid maintenance bracket is the same as lower-end cars like the CLA45. So this 20% "discount" is likely gonna be something like 40%
Additionally, you can negotiate prepaid maintenance. I've always had it added for free or 50% off during car purchase, My dealer this time actually "transferred" my 36month AMG maintenance (that I had gotten at 50% off) into a 48 month maintenance, so basically I got 48 months of maintenance for the price of 18months. Add the 40% we talked about, then it's like having 11 months. Basically, I'm paying for 4 years what someone would pay in 1 year of ownership. It's huge value!

Thanks so much kcirm. Sounds like you got a great deal. I asked my salesperson about a discount and he responded "Because the maintenance plans are actual warranties the state of Florida doesn’t allow us to increase or decrease the price of a warranty."
What should I expect to pay at full price for 3 or 4 years of prepaid maintenance?
