This video (16:30) indicates that launch control will work on an SL55 with tour suspension, like I have.

Has anyone tried it in their 2022-2023 SL55?

If so, any observations?

Is it bad for the car to use this feature?

Also, this is a fun video to watch. This guy LOVES the car.

Well, finally got to 1,000 miles and I answered by own question.

The Mercedes manual says race start/launch control only works in the SL63, but happily this limitation not true.

Just tried it on my SL55 and it works perfectly and definitely accelerates faster from a launch.. Super fun.

Looking at your screenshot from the Mercedes manual, it does not say that it only works with the SL 63. It also says, "OR for vehicles with the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package." Might I assume your SL55 has that optional package?

It does not, and it has the standard (red brake calipers) touring suspension.

So perhaps everyone with a new SL can enjoy this very fun feature.

Good to know. I wonder if at first it was not available without the dynamics plus package and the manual is right for when the manual was printed - or the manual was never correct - or it is feature that got added somewhat after the manual was printed - or ???. Anyway glad you have it and I'll have to try it. Haven't as yet but you've inspired me!
