SL/R232: After market CD player

After market CD player
Most new cars no longer have CD players. Which is unfortunate,as I have hundreds of CDs. I’m sure I’m not alone with this minor conundrum 😎. Has anyone here installed an aftermarket CD player, or know of any that can (relatively) easily fit this car?

Without a doubt, one of my biggest disappointments with automakers, is the unavailability of factory installed CD players, especially the six-disc changers. What a spectacular, simple, way to obtain outstanding music reproduction in a vehicle, but now it’s gone. And with the way the factory audio systems are designed these days, adding an aftermarket CD player is not anything even remotely close to being a simple task—not to mention where to locate the unit in something like the R232. Oh well.

I don’t believe there are any new cars (model year 2025) in the US market available with Compact Disc players as a factory option.
It’s unfortunate, but this was going to happen eventually. Lincoln first introduced these for model year 1987 on their Town Car, and Mercedes-Benz on the S-Kassie for model year 1988. Compact Disc players have slowly started to experience a phase-out across the industry starting during th mid 2010s (S-Klasse removed it with the W222 facelift for model year 2018).
