SL/R232: It's Back to the 70s!

2023 SL 63 AMG
It's Back to the 70s!
I guess Merc had supply chain issues when my 63 was built and they substituted a CRT for the main screen LCD. Second time this has happened.

Snow Time!

It's happened twice now. Have to power cycle the display to stop.

By CRT, do you mean cathode ray tube? They are not flat screens by any means. They are maybe 20 times deeper than a flat screen LCD, LED or what have you.

That infotainment issue is very common on the W206 as well especially when activating apple carplay, the fix is through software update.

I've had this happen in several loaners over the last two years. It's likely a software bug with the display driver. Haven't seen it happen lately, but given that yours is a 2023, sounds like the issue still isn't resolved.

Never seen that one in my 2022 AMG SL63! Surely must be an update.
