SL/R232: Power for Radar Detector?

2022 MB SL63 AMG Roadster
Power for Radar Detector?
Anyone else dissatisfied with running a cable from the center dash down into the center console to use the USB-C?
I'm looking for a solution. Maybe it's opening up the plastic panel behind the rear view mirror and seeing if I can tap into that power there?

There is SUPPOSED to be a 12v power supply in the main glove box (passenger side, not the center console). Unless it's hidden behind a panel, I don't see anything.

Although I am not doing it in my current AMG SL63, in my last two cars the technician who did the work found a fusible link in the array of fuses below the passenger foot well. From there, he ran a wire up along the passenger side windshield A pillar and kept it hidden under the plastic running horizontally at the top of the windshield and had the wire pigtail out at an appropriate place for me to mount my Valentine one with suction cups.

Seems like a lot of work when there's already power in the cluster where the rear view mirror mounts to the windscreen.

Also don't like the suction mount. But having a tough time engineering something to go around the rear view mirror.
