2022 sl63. Inconsistent power loss.
I bought a cpo 2022 sl63 with 3000km on it in June 2024. I’ve had over a dozen incidents where while I was driving it just lost power. Went into limp mode. But no engine light. No consistant factors. When it happens it just starts coasting. I pull over and if you hit the throttle the rpms go up slowly and if you try to pull away it will lurch. Shut it off and restart and it goes back to normal. Recently it’s been happening more frequently. It’s been taken into the dealer at least 6 times. They had done software updates and a recall on the fuel management control unit. They Replaced the throttle actuator. And now it’s in again and they are going to replace the throttle body.

Was this a buyback? Can a car be re-re-purchased?

It’s the beginning of the end when they go into the throwing parts at it mode.
If the next fix doesn’t take, and a buyback is still available, give it very serious consideration.
I don’t want to presume your budget, but whatever you get back on a buyout could go towards a 2026 or 2026 model, there are some very nice new features on those.

they haven’t created a file with Mercedes corp yet. A previous Mercedes mechanic told me once they create that file with Mercedes then they lose control of what to do etc. I’m gonna contact Mercedes Canada and see if I can get a buy back or a very good deal on a newer one or maybe change to a gt63. Also had repeat issues with my 2025 gle450 wipers ( 7 attempts before fixed ) and was being told “ well it’s better than before so you should be fine” each time they failed to fix them, so not feeling confident with staying with the brand. Tempted to go for buy back and look for something else.

This! In my area there were several instances of gas stations who wrecked engines because their gas supplier put the wrong tyoe of gas in the premium well. I think it may have been diesel instead of 93 octane. It's happened twice in a year all within 20 miles of where I live. It's worth investigating.
