450sl Heater Servo gone Bad - Help me bypass

Hi,

I have a 1980 Mercedes 450SL. My Heater Servo lets heat get to the heater core when heat is set to off. I am in Florida so I would like to cap off the hoses that feed the heater core.

Does anyone know if this will work?

It looks like the top hose that goes into the firewall in the heater core feed?
I plan to remove that hose from the heater servo,
and plug the hose and also cap off the output of the heater servo.

Does anyone have a diagram to share?

Any input would be appreiated?

Thanks
Robert

A good independent shop (non-dealer) should be able to do this for you at very little expense. Plus, it sounds like a good item to start building a rapport with one. Sooner or later, you will need a good shop for service unless you have an unlimited budget for specialty tools.
