Baby seat?
Please help!
Have just acquired a beautiful 1987 300 sl. However, we also have a baby!
Has anyone had experience of fitting a baby seat in rear with the 2 point lap belt. Our daughter is 10 months old and therefore is about to move to a forward facing seat in the rear of the car. I believe that there are models that fit a car with a 2 point lap belt.
If it is not possible, then it will have to be a one adult at a time car and no family trips, which would be a real shame!!

I'm not sure how much help this is, but I installed the rear seat kit in my '74 450SL and have been using a backless seat for my 5-year old. I would imagine that many smaller child seats are available that would be safe and able to be secured using only lap belts. I'd recommend you visit a shop that carries many models of child seats (Babies R Us, for example) and read the restrictions. Most child seats I've seen are made to work with 3-point balts, but not exclusively so. I doubt you'll have much trouble.
