I am new to this board and have just become the proud owner of a 1975 450sl, she is in need of a mild restoration. paint is original but faded, only rust is lower front frnder is through, some bubbles begining in some other areas. engine runs fine but tranny slips slightly around 30 mph or so, not sure of my complete plans yet but i would like to add some of the available amg cosmetics that were available for that car. my question is where can i A) find what amg offered cosmetically in 1975 and B) find those parts either aftermarket or used? my best friend had an 83 560sl AMG with the air dam, rear deck spoiler, penta rims, euro headlights, and rocker skirts, the car looked amazing. i want something similar but want to keep it coherant with what amg offered in 1975.

 

I think they were on an official AMG web site, but in German. Look for such a site and the photos were under a historical listing and showed both the 1970s SL and SLC in AMG trim.

That might be a good start.
