SL/R107: Help!
Help!
Hi there,
been having massive trouble trying to get to the bottom of a running problem with my europian 1985 280sl. Was hoping someone here might have a suggestion. Here's the e-mail I've received from the garage...
"The parts we had on order for your car have arrived and been fitted. However, we still are getting some rough running, we can clean the plugs and the car will run okay and then when we get back into it, it runs like a bag of nails again.
Having replaced all the electric components, plugs, distributor cap, rotor arm and plug leads, all the filters and replaced the fuel pipes which were badly corroded, we are at a crossroads as to where to go.
The exhaust, despite our patching still has some small holes in it , which is not helping back pressure, but we are now down to the Warm up Regulator or the Fuel injection metering unit, neither of which are cheap units. The cheaper of the two is the Warm up Regulator but as yet we have not been able to source one on the net."
Does anyone have any thoughts? I would be extremely greatful for any useful advice. Thanking you in advance... Edd

Not to be a smart alec, but you need to find a mechanic familiar with troubleshooting K-jetronic fuel injection.
That said, from here my wild *** guess would be warm up regulator.
