hello and some advice please
Hi all,
A quick hello, and a request for some advice please.
Im off to see a R107 this weekend, its an early car 71 or 72, it has the 350 engine, also from what I understand it has been in dry storage for a number of years.
Although I have experience of older cars I am not to familiar with old mercs, hence I was wondering if any members could let me know of the main checks to do, any weak points on this model etc, I am okay with doing a light resto but dont want to get into a car that may have to many problems.
many thanks!!

Best advice I can think of is to check for rust, rust, and then check for more rust.
Almost everyone will also insist on checking the service documentation available.
Beyond that I'd advise having a prepurchase inspection done by a mechanic familiar with this Benz of that vintage. Sadly most mechanics aren't that knowledgable about the older models.
That said, I bought my 107 in about an hour with no idea what I was doing. Better lucky than good.
Good luck.
