1985 380 SL Sun Visor Sag

Both sun visors rest in a parallel to the ground position with hard top installed. They are pointing directly at my forehead when I sit in the car. With the soft top up I can get the visor to stay at an upward angle if I push them against the soft top. With the hard top installed I can't get the visors to stay higher than parallel to the ground. Is there a fix so the visors will stay at any angle above parallel?

First try holding the metal rod with the ball down, while pushing up on the visor. This kind of repositions the visor on the rod. If that doen't work, I put a piece of tape around the part of the visor that clips into the piece that stays on the frame.

Sun Visor Adjustment

I found out the correct way is to remove the rear view mirror, remove the trim on each side of the mirror, and adjust the tension screw that puts pressure against the visor metal ball in the socket.
