2005 E500 Wagon, 1982 500SL Euro
Intermittant high idle.
Just bought a 1982 SL 500.
Intermittently the motor will have a high idle. 1700 rpm
Then it will go back to normal without any specific reason.
It can go days between episodes. When it does "stick" at high, it will last quite awhile. (30-45 mins), then go back to normal all by itself.
* I think it sticks high after hard driving on the highway. Around town it doesnt seem to do it.
