Fast Idle Solved
First I want to say that this forum is awesome. I have found so much valuable information here. I have an 1985 380SL that I have been working to improve but at every turn I face some obstacle that members here have helped me solve.
The last was a high idle speed, above 1500 rpm. It came down to 3 possibilities, the Idle speed control valve, the electronic idle seepd control module or the overload protection relay/fuse.
After determining that I had a defective idle speed control module, I tried to fix it myself, to no avail. That's when I found this company ProgRama of Boca Raton Florida. Although some other sites on Amazon were slightly cheaper, this is the company the use for rebuilding the circuit board.
I send them my old unit. They bench tested it to determine if it was in fact faulty and send me a rebuilt unit. The cost was $175 with a 3 year warranty or $146 with a 30 day warranty. I paid the $175.
I just installed the unit and the car started right up with the correct idle rpm.
