Hello,
I just purchased a brown/bronze 1980 450sl, sent it to the mechanic and it is running down the road. It's still got a couple of issues with the AC compressor and fuel delivery, but it's nice to drive.
I have two major rust questions:
-The fuel neck/quarter panel has rusted out just inside the fuel door. Can that piece be purchased from somewhere as a patch panel?
- The hard top has a chromed metal reinforcement piece on the bottom which is rusted out. Can that be purchased? (It looks like it just screws into place, but I have not found that part in searching the online catalogs either).
I did a search of this thread, but may not have used the correct terms since I didn't find anything.
