Euro spec 79 280sl Brakes? Compatible with 450sl?
I was told the euro spec cars have different calipers and brake systems than the Us domestic cars. Anyone have any thoughts or know if this is true.
I have a 1979 280sl r107. I can't find any parts for it in any catalogs. I would think it is the same as a 450sl but just curious if anyone knows for sure.
Thanks.
Red on black 4 speed base model.

450SL
Fronts are the same as the 450SL. Rear rotors are the same. Rear calipers show different part numbers for the two models. EPC shows three brands were used, Teves/ATE, Bendix, and Girling.

Thanks for that information. What is the EPC?
I will look at the calipers to see if I can figure out the make. I need to rebuild them as the front left piston is sticking bad.

EPC is the Mercedes Electronic Parts Catalog. It was free untill January this year but now it is $75.00 per year. http://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/login.jsp
