1985 380SL. Source for ignition tumbler?
I would like to buy a new tumbler with a set of keys. Contacted a vendor and received the following reply:
"the ignition tumbler for the 380SL was discontinued awhile ago, not even available from the dealer, we can only offer a complete ignition lock assembly here is a link"
The complete ignition lock assembly is quite expensive and I'm guessing is considerably more difficult to install than just the tumbler.
Does anyone know a source for the tumbler, even aftermarket?

The tumbler is not available form MB nor aftermarket. The only 107 models that are still available from MB is the post 9/85 models at it will not work in the previous years.
The post 9/85 tumbler and lock assembly can be used in the '81-'85 models but as you said it is kind of expensive.
