Unhappy Dash removal??? help

Looking for any location or help concerning removal of a 88 560SL dash. I have worked on many BMW's, but this is the first Mercedes for myself.

Any tips or pointers or places to find the info would be nice

Thanks

Mike

www.mercedesshop.com and search for dash removal in the sl forum... I think you'll find what you're looking for... if not there, try www.forums.mbnz.org or www.oursl.com and link to forums (but you'll have to register first for our sl forum access). From what I read, not too hard, but pay attention to airbag instructions...

'81 380SL/dual cam chain-LT4 vette-Z06 ('03) vette-I need a bigger garage....
I forgot where I got the tip from but I used a couple of short sections of coat hangar wire and bent a small 90 degree on the ends. Insert these along the sides of the instrument cluster, more toward the top than bottom and rotate the bends inward and pull forward. The cluster simply pulls out. You should have enough wiring harness length to extend it out a few inches. Of course, you need to remove the steering wheel first. This is how I do it on an '81 SL.
